The first thing I did was scrolled through some layouts. I finally decided on a simple one that had a lot of potential for a cool blog. Once I picked a layout, I decided to find a background. I knew that I wanted to find a background that wasn't provided to us on the Blogger website. I began my search through various websites looking for a background that I thought fit my blog. This was the hardest part of this assignment. In order to get a custom background the file size has to fit perfectly or else it won't work. I searched for days until I finally found the vintage background that I have now.
The next task was to add some personal things to it. I added an "about me" section and a picture of myself. I also added a blog description. Once I was finished with that. I customized all of my fonts and colors. I stuck with shades of gray and blue to match my background.
The last thing I did was added some gadgets. I used the "add a picture gadget" a few times to post some pictures of things that I felt went with my blog theme. I also added a link to my other blog on Tumblr.
Overall I think I kept my blog pretty simple. It has some cool features but the importance of the blog is what I'm writing about so I didn't want to make the gadgets too distracting. I'm not sure if I am done editing it yet. I might add a few more features as this blog grows.
