Slideshows and Photo Gallery

The first slideshow I found is off BBC news website. It goes into depth on whats scientist and amateurs  use to to look at the night sky. The music at the beginning is eerie which adds to the whole space theme, but the narrator comes in and makes it kind of dry. It uses amazing photography which really keeps ones attention.

The second slideshow I found is a basic facts slideshow on the solar system. This slideshow is used for a teaching students basic facts. There is a quiz at the end of it to make sure that you actually read through it. It doesn't have any audio so it helps you really focus on what you are reading. It is pretty simple and a good learning tool.

The photo gallery I found was on broadway.com. I chose a gallery on the musical "Wicked". This photo gallery show pictures from actors/actresses performing live on Broadway. It is very interesting to go through the photos and see all of the costume and make up changed throughout the musical. A lot of the photos are mid singing photos so they show the real action of being on stage.

Slide shows and photo gallerys most certainly can be used as storytelling tools. You can put news and articles into slideshow form or even picture form to tell ones story. I believe that slide shows may do a better job at storytelling simple because you can add music or narration to them making it easier to give out information. Having sound can help set the mood and can help you obtain more knowledge. It depends on how well made the slide show and gallery are.
