Podcasts

While searching for pod casts to subscribe to,  I was mainly looking for ones that would help out college students.

The three podcasts I decided on are:
Common sense with Dan Carlin
The Critical Thinker
The Skeptics Guide to the Universe

Common Sense with Dan Carlin is a good educational podcast but also funny. Dan  Carlin has a way of making common sense humorous but still make you think. He talks about politics, current events, and world affairs. This pod cast can also be downloaded on to any iPod so you can listen to it on the go. I didn't really enjoy this pod cast too much at first, but as it went on I started to get interested in what he had to say. That being said, I still don't think it is a pod cast I would listen to on a weekly basis. I might tune in here and there for a few episodes but not regularly.

The Critical Thinker is a podcast that tells you the importance of critical and independent thinking. I picked this one because I saw the name and it caught my attention. It's episodes gives you tips on how to become a good critical thinker. I did really enjoy this podcast. The narrator made it interesting and it's actually pretty helpful. I think I would continue to listen to it and it's even iPod accessible. The Critical Thinker also has tutorials up on YouTube for tips and tricks on critical thinking.

The Skeptics Guide to the Universe is a weekly podcast hosted by Steven Novella. This podcast discusses myths, conspiracy theories and the paranormal state of the universe. I chose this podcast because topics like that really interest me. I really enjoyed this podcast. Its super interesting and something that one can easily listen to. I didn't really enjoy how long it was, I got kind of distracted but the topics were amazing. I would continue to listen to this.
